New EU servers, please read and help out!Hello everybody, SoJa and I have been thinking about expanding into the EU so we decided to get a NFO VDS in Frankfurt, Germany. This is for the over-seas players that have terrible pings to the US servers, now you can enjoy good performing GFL servers in the EU! We will be setting up a few servers on this VDS which includes CS:GO Zombie Mod, Zombie Escape, and Surf Timer and possibly expanding into TF2 servers in the future if the CS:GO servers succeed. If the servers start becoming populated, we will upgrade to a full machine and raise the slot count to 64 slots on each server.

The VDS will be an extra $50.00 a month but we are doing well with donations so that shouldn't be a problem although, we will need to keep that up with the school year beginning!

We will need up populating these new EU servers! Please join them and invite your friends to the servers!

GFL has barely any EU staff, and since all USA-admins are asleep during GMT times or early morning and they have to get ready for school, how is it going to work?

Also, how is the rank system going to work, rank is linked between both of the ZE servers or a fresh one is given for EU ZE?

We can find admins once the EU expansion is complete. I'd add a section in the admin form asking "US or EU?" that way we know when they can get on and such.

This will also get us many more players, from the US and the EU.

 

If you want Oceania hosting, just search about around Google. I think there are some good ones.

I thought the same thing, but with separate servers for EU and USA it'll probably create a split between the current server and in turn create two new communities that need their own set of staff.

 

That's what I expect to see, at least. It sounds like a good idea, a large potential for growth.

Yeah. that would be an issue.

 

But they will probably just end up being 2 separate entities after a month or 2 and it will all go back to normal.

Just make an EU and US admin application. That way we have 2 separate groups of admins, the EU can collaborate with EU, and the US can collaborate with US. 

 

If people want to improve the server, then have the US admins work on it when they can and the EU work on it when they can.

 

 

It shouldn't be a problem if it's all planned out.

Well, two servers got to above 30 players already. Sadly, one of them lost connection to Steam (once again, thanks Valve for not fixing a major issue that has been here for two years) and the other (Zombie Mod) crashed at 40+ players :\ Although, I think I may have fixed what caused the crash.

Ofcause the Community will split in US/EU the only problem what I´ll expect is when the server is hosted in Germany the whole Community will speak german on the EU servers. Allready seen this times ago. (btw im also german ^^)

well, i do have the same time as the UK, so i live in the same time zone! but there is almost no one that plays on the csgo servers, or atleast the new ones!
